It is no surprise that her highly anticipated album 1989, released on October 27th, 2014 has caught the positive attention of music critics and has been well received by radio stations. 1989 is Swift’s first documented pop album.
1989 has sold over 1.2 million copies to date and singles off the album, “Shake it Off,” and “Blank Space,” have sold over 1.6 million copies in the United States. Her album is a commercial success and has the highest sales of an album in a single week since 2002. Released by Big Machine Records and produced in collaboration with Shellback and Max Martin, this album is self-described by Swift as, “straight from the pages of my journal.” As its title might suggest, the album is inspired by music that was created in her birth year 1989.
